Council Member, Dan Sweeney

Dan and his wife have lived in Mission Woods for the past 11 years. They have two children and five granddaughters. Dan is a lifelong area resident who graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and from Westminster College. 

 

After 43 years in the Kansas City residential real estate business Dan retired in March of 2024. During this timeframe, he was a top-producing sales agent with J.C. Nichols Residential. He later became a branch managing broker overseeing J.C. Nichols South Kansas City office and the managing broker for the Reece Nichols Country Club Plaza office. In 2004, he became a part owner of Prudential Kansas City Homes, which later partnered with Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate.
