Trash and general recycling collections occur every Friday morning at curbside. Yard Waste is collected on Mondays year-round. Glass recycling is collected on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month. Materials are to be put out only after dusk the night before unless the homeowner is going to be away. Be considerate. Put trash out after dusk. Trash and recycling costs are paid by Mission Woods through taxes. Remember this when comparing the mill rate of Mission Woods to those of other cities, most of which arrange for trash through homes associations dues.
Trash and general recycling pickup will be delayed one day on weeks in which a Federal holiday is observed, including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Check the Waste Management website for detailed information.
Two categories of materials are acceptable: "recyclable mixed paper" and "recyclable commingled containers" (see below). Organize all recycling material into these two categories, place them in the recycle bin, and put them at curbside. Mission Woods schedules annual pickups for large items that are not appropriate for weekly trash collection. Items must be at curbside by 7:00 a.m. Waste Management cannot, for insurance reasons, assist in moving material to the curb for these pickups. Construction dumpster or hazardous waste materials are not included. A reminder is traditionally sent to all residents.

The City contracts with CRUSH GLASS to provide curbside glass recycling. Pickups occur on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.
All oils and oil-based products, solvents, pesticides, flammables, and many household chemicals are hazardous materials in regards to trash collection.
